Moran currently works at ABC News as the Senior National Correspondent based in Washington DC. He joined the station in 1997 and served as primary correspondent assigned at the US Supreme Court. From September 1999 he served as white house correspondent until 2005. He was a co-anchor of Nightline and also a political reporter covering 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns

His first journalism job was at the New republic magazine and next was a reporter and editor job on Legal Times, Washington DC. From there he joined Court TV as a news Correspondent and anchor. He is a holder of several awards that he has earned through his journalism career. The Awards includes George Foster Peabody Award, Two Merriman Smith Award from the White House Correspondents Association, Emmy Awards and Thurgood Marshall Journalism Award.
