Strassmann began his career in 1980 as an associate producer for WCVB-TV in Boston and worked in that capacity until 1982 when he left for WSAZ-TV in Charleston, West Virginia to work as a reporter. He left the Station in 1985 to report for KMOL-TV in San Antonio. WTVT-TV in Columbus, Ohio hired him for nearly 2 years before joining WFLA-TV in Tampa to serve as reporter.
In 1995 Strassmann landed a national Correspondent Job at NBC News Channel the Miami’s bureau. In 1997 he was transferred to Atlanta Bureau. His reports were broadcasted on NBC’s Today show and also other NBC Broadcasts.
He left NBC in 2001 and joined CBS News and he has been a great contributor to CBS Evening News and Face the Nation. He has covered many international events like the fall of Haitian President Aristide.
