Lulu Hassan is one of the most prominent Journalists in Kenya. She is an anchorwoman and Co-hosts a Swahili newscasts named Nipashe Wikendi, in one of Kenya’ s biggest media House, Citizen TV, a Royal Media Services owned Television. She also cohosts a show named Mawaidha na Bi. Msafwari. Her accuracy and eloquence in Swahili is topnotch. What excites most people is her personality as she has a good sense of humor and also a great fashionista. Being one of the most successful journalist she is a role model to many and hence a huge fan base.

In appearance, Lulu seems to be on her late thirty’s. Although she celebrates her birthdays on April 24 every year, the journalist has never disclosed her year of birth publicly. However, on February of 2024 she posted on her Instagram that she will be turning 40 on April of the same year coming to our attention that she was born on 1984.

A native of Mombasa, Kenya she was born as Lulu Khadija Hassan as the first born to her parents whose names are not publicly disclosed. Although she has been speculated to have Somali ancestry, she holds a Kikuyu and Seychelles ancestry as her mother held the same whereas her father originated from Seychelles. Unfortunately, Lulu lost her mother in 2007, shortly after getting married.

Her career in Journalism began at Salaam Radio where she was a host and read News in English. From there she was hired by KTN as a Swahili anchor following two of their Swahili anchors going for maternity leave. Subsequently, Citizen Tv hired her as an anchor and works there up to date.
