Jim Acosta is an American News Anchor best known for working at CNN as Chief Domestic Correspondent and anchor. He is a former CNN’s chief white house correspondent when Donald Trump was the President. Acosta is also renowned for severally clashing with Trump at press briefings. He had also covered Obama’s administration as the senior white house Correspondent for CNN. He became the Chief Domestic Correspondent and anchor on 11 January 2021 when Trump was about to leave the office.

Acosta’s first job as a journalist was at WMAL Radio in Washington DC in 1994. He moved to WTTG TV to work as a desk assistant. He also worked at WBIR TV as a reporter and Substitute anchor in Knoxville, Tennessee from 1995-1998.

The journalist joined KTVT TV in 1998 in Dallas to work as a reporter and left in 2000. The broadcaster moved to WBBM TV in Chicago where he worked as a reporter up to 2001. He later worked in CBS News as a correspondent based in Dallas and Chicago until 2003. Acosta was transferred as correspondent based in New York and later Atlanta. He joined CNN in April 2007 and covered the 2008 presidential campaigns of Obama and Hillary Clinton. In 2012 he rose to ranks becoming CNN’s national political correspondent, in 2018 he became Chief White house correspondent and in January 2021 he was named chief Domestic Correspondent.
