After she was done with College she interned at a cable station in Columbus, Ohio. From there she got a short stint job in WIPS Radio station in Ticonderoga, New York. Then she joined WNYT TV as a general assignment reporter in Albany New York where she rose in rank to weekend anchor and weekly co-anchor. She worked with the station for 17 years.
June 1998 is when she joined NBC News as an anchor and reporter for MSNBC and also a substitute anchor for Today show and also Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News. From 2008 she worked as the station’s field reporter in Los Angeles and returned as an anchor in 2010. She is the former host of Jansing and company a role she dropped after becoming the senior white house correspondent for NBC News. On June 2017 she became the senior national correspondent for MSNBC. On 2022 a show named MTP Daily was moved to NBC News Now and jansing took the slot to anchor her own show Chris Jansing Reports.
