Carter Evans is a 47 year old American Journalist who works at CBS News as a correspondent based in Los Angeles. After joining the station in 2013 and has retained the Los Angeles based correspondent since then. He rose to fame in February 2013 for being the only reporter on scene during a police shoot out with suspect murderer of the late LAPD officer Christopher Dorner in Big Bear, California.

Carter’s career began in 1995, when he was a university Student, he was a freelance reporter for KGMB-TV, a CBS affiliate in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 2003 he joined KCBS/KCAL and worked there as a reporter for four years and in his major stories he covered the death of President Ronald Reagan. From there he worked at WWOR-TV in New York as anchor and reporter. Carter worked for CBS Newspath as a freelance correspondent and also as a fill in for CBS Moneywatch.
He worked for CNN FOR 4 years from 2008 to 2012 as a reporter and also a rotating host of The Help Desk, a CNN Financial Q & A program.
After joining CBS News in 2013, he was assigned to be Los Angeles based correspondent a position he has retained since then. He has also served as CBS’s Freelance correspondent.
