Al Rocker is an American Journalist and an Author. Currently, he is the weather presenter for NBC’s Today and an occasional co-host of 3 Hour Today.

Rocker was born to Isabel and Albert Lincoln Rocker Sr. His mother had a Jamaican Ancestry and raised his son in Catholic faith. His father was a bus driver of Bahamian Ancestry. Rocker’s initial dream was to be a Cartoonist. He is the oldest of Rocker’s family. His younger brother’s name is Christopher while his sister is Alisa Smith.

Rocker had married his first wife whose Identity is unknown but divorced. Secondly, he married Alice Bell, a WNBC producer in 1984. The couple adopted a kid named Courtney in 1987 but they unfortunately divorced. Lastly, he found an apple of his eye, Deborah Roberts, a Journalist on 16 September 1995. On 19 November 1998, the duo welcomed their first born Leila and on 18th July 2002 they had their son Nicholas.

Al Rocker Career

His career began when he was still a student at SUNY as he worked for WHEN-TV (now WTVH) a CBS affiliate as a weather caster in Syracuse, New York. He also worked as a DJ in the University’s Radio WNYO.

After graduating he was hired by Independent station WTTG as a weather caster in Washington DC, where he worked for 2 years.

In 1978, he landed a job at an NBC owned station WKYC in Cleveland. After working for 5 years he was promoted to WNBC-TV in New York City and after working for 8 months he was the regular weeknight weather anchor.

1993-1996 he substituted for Joe Witte on NBC News at Sunrise and in 1990-1995 he was a fill-in for Today show. In 1995 he began hosting the Al Rocker Show, a weekend talk show on CNBC. He landed a job on weekend Today after David Letterman invited him on his talk show which gave him a wider exposure in 1996. Since then he has been a weather caster on Today.

AS an Author he has published several books including, The Mid night Show Murders published in 2010, The Morning Show Murders (2010) which was turned into a movie in 2018 in Hallmark movies and Mysteries, Been There Done That: Family Wisdom for Modern Times which he wrote together with Deborah his wife published in 2016.
