The Journalist was educated at Port Neches Groves High School and graduated with the class of 1996. He started nurturing his journalism career there as he was the co-editor of the School’s newspaper named the Pow Wow.
From there he enrolled at Trinity University where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Political Science graduating in 2000. During his time there he was aware that he needed some experience thus serving in the University’s Radio Station, KRTU-FM as an anchor and also as the Chief copy editor of Trinitonian Newspaper.

Career
Aaron’s career began when he served as an intern at CNN International in their World Business Today broadcast and was based in London. Later he joined a CBS affiliate in San Antonia, KENS-TV as an intern. To add to his internship he had also served as a congressional intern in the US House of Representatives for 4 months in 1998.
From Internships, the Journalist was hired by KBTX-TV in Bryan, Texas in May 2000, as a News reporter and Weekend anchor and one of the biggest coverage there was the Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster in 2003. There he served for four months and left for KRIS-TV in Corpus Kristi, Texas. His role there was News Reporter and Weekend Anchor and served for three years.
Other places he worked are KLAS-TV in Las Vegas, Nevada where he spent nearly 8 years and that’s where he earned his three Emmy Awards. The other one is KRQE News in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he joined in October 2014 and served as weeknight News anchor. In addition he worked for KTNV News in Las Vegas, Nevada for one year and Freelance Digital News anchor for Las Vegas Review Journal.
Since 2018 to September 2021, Drawhorn was an associate commercial broker till he finally moved back to Journalism which he had left in 2020, after he was hired by KFDM 6 News in Feb 2021 where he works as News anchor up to date.
