Additionally he began anchoring the eye witness news on Sunday morning.  In that capacity, Novarro covered for commendable stories such as racial profiling case that led to overhaul of the New Jersey state police department and also drug dealers who held tenants hostage in their Brooklyn apartment turning their home into a crack house a story that earned him an Emmy award.

In 2000 he left Eye witness and moved to Chicago to become the anchor of WFLD- TV morning news. Later in 2007 he began  anchoring 10PM news in the same station. He reported on Barrack Obama presidential campaign. In 2010 he was voted the best newscaster in a Chicago radio poll and shortly after that he returned to New York and got back to eye witness team.
