Career

Jamie’s career in journalism began in 1978 at an ABC affiliate WJLA-TV, in Washington, DC where she was an assignment editor. She also worked at a CBS affiliate, WTOP-AM, a radio station in still in Washington. In 1982, she was hired by WPLG-TV in Miami, Florida to work as a general assignment reporter and substitute anchor.

Her big break came after NBC hired her in 1983. There she was best known as a national correspondent for Today show a job she did for nearly 20 years. During her time there she reported from across the world from Europe to Africa, South America. She has conducted interviews with prominent people including Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barrack Obama and Donald Trump.
