Jeremy Vine is an English Journalist renowned for Television and Radio presenting and an employee of BBC Radio 2 and Channel 5. At BBC Radio 2, he hosts a lunchtime program that presents news, popular music, live guests views and interviews and has served in the position since 2003. However, at Channel 5, he hosts a quiz program named Eggheads since 2014 and also Jeremy Vine Show, a weekday current affairs show since 2018.

From there he attended Epsom College where he was a member of The Flared Generation Band as a drummer together with his brother Tim as a member. There he was a member of Durham Revue, a Sketch comedy group and also edited the student newspaper Palatinate.

Career

Vine is both a television and Radio presenter and his career began as a radio presenter volunteering in Durham Hospital Radio. Later he did a short stint at Metro Radio, leading him to enroll to a journalism training course with Coventry evening Paragraph. From there he joined BBC Network in 1987 whereby he began as a news presenter on a radio in Northern Ireland and later a researcher on BBC 1 Heart of the matter. He was posted on BBC Radio 4 in 1989, whereby as a regular reporter he reported across Europe for a program named Today. Later he became a political reporter on BBC-TV and covered the 1997 General elections.

After the Elections he rose in rank becoming BBC’s Africa Correspondent based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He reported across all African Countries and managed to interviews various African key Leaders. He had reported about South African police brutality on BBC 2 newsnight, a case that led to suspension of 22 police officers and won him a silver Nymph. In 1999, Vine left Africa and became a full time co-presenter of Newsnight.
