Guthrie landed her first job as a journalist at KMIZ an ABC affiliate in Colombia, Missouri. From there she joined KVOA an NBC affiliate in Tucson. 5 years later she got a reporter job at WRC TV in Washington DC.
In September 2007, she joined NBC News as legal analyst and Correspondent and covered Salah Palin’s vice presidential Campaign. By December she was made the White House Correspondent.
She works as the station’s news anchor and also a substitute for NBC Nightly News. She worked as a substitute for Today and on May 2011 she became a Co-host of the 9am Newscasts and also the show’s chief legal editor. On June 2011 she became NBC News chief legal analyst.
